Isolaz, BBL, and Photodynamic Therapy for Active Acne
AesthetiCare owns 2 FDA approved light systems for the treatment of acne, the Isolaz and the Sciton BBL. Both utilize blue light to kill p.acnes bacteria and alter the size of the sebacious gland.
We normally recommend a series of 4
treatments, one per week. Combining these
treatments with the proper homecare will
result in dramatic improvements in acne.
Light therapy for acne does not create
downtime and is very tolerable. Many
prefer this option to long-term usage
of prescription drugs. In some cases, we
will combine Levulan with light therapy.
Levulan, made by Dussa Pharmaceuticals,
is a more aggressive treatment
that has shown excellent results.
