Bring your bottom to the top of your to-do list and ask us about Qwo® (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes)—the first and only FDA-approved injectable for cellulite—now available at both our Leawood and Liberty office.

QWO is a Non-surgical prescription medicine used to treat moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. Injections take about 10 minutes or less done in a series of three treatment visits over the course of two months. Safely studied on all skin types and ethnicities.

The Procedure

Details.

What it Treats

Cellulite. There are 3 things that, together, contribute to cellulite: fibrous bands under the skin get thicker, skin thins, and fat cells get larger–pushing against the skin and creating dimples.

Procedure Time
  • < 40 minutes
How does QWO® work?

QWO is made from enzymes called collagenases. These enzymes are thought to target the structural causes under the skin, where cellulite starts. QWO releases these fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.

Results

Endo Aesthetics conducted the largest clinical trials in the history of cellulite investigation to help determine the safety and efficacy of QWO. Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. Women in clinical studies received 3 treatments, 21 days apart.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Is QWO a surgical procedure?

No. QWO is an injectable treatment option that is thought to target a primary structural cause of cellulite — the fibrous septae. It is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for the treatment of moderate to severe cellulite.

Why aren't men prone to developing cellulite?

Men have thicker skin than women do, and their collagen bands are oriented in a crisscross fashion, essentially eliminating the ability of the fat lobules to bulge through. If a man is given estrogen hormones (as in some cancer treatments), they can develop cellulite if there is enough fat.

How can I tell if I have cellulite?

Often times skin laxity can be confused as cellulite. Cellulite looks like dimpled or bumpy skin. It's sometimes described as having a cottage cheese or orange peel texture.

Will I need to take time off?

There is limit to no downtime associated with QWO. Some patients experience initial soreness and tenderness, but these side effects resolve quickly with time.
