HALO Laser Treatment: Client Keshia Reveals All …

Tanning bed trips and weekends at the lake are luxuries that AesthetiCare client Keshia enjoyed – as we all have – but as years went by, her skin began developing signs of sun damage.
Meet Keshia
Keshia came to AesthetiCare to see about reversing her aging and sun damage in addition to seeking a reduction in pore size and an overall smoother skin texture.
After a thorough discussion of her skincare goals, it was determined that the Halo Laser Treatment would be her skin’s saving grace!

SPOILER ALERT: According to Keshia, the anticipation of the Halo Laser was worse than the laser treatment itself!
How the HALO Laser Is Heaven to Your Skin
The world’s first and only hybrid fractional laser, the HALO Laser is a technology that uses a combination of wavelengths to repair sun damage, enlarged pores, poor texture and uneven skin tone.
The heavenly HALO Laser improves every aspect of your skin with minimal downtime! And this treatment can be done on the face, chest/neck, hands and other body zones.
In Keshia’s case, a HALO Face Treatment was used, but this laser can certainly be used on other areas of the body.
Drumroll, Please …
Keshia had only one HALO Laser Treatment performed by our aesthetician Krissy, but that was enough to give her the glowing skin of her dreams! Multiple treatments can be used in a series, but it’s all based on your unique skin and the results you desire.
I’m sure many of you are asking, How long does it take to recover from HALO Laser?
Keshia’s recovery took roughly eight to nine days, which are outlined below, so let’s get started!
DAY 1: HALO Laser Day.
Keshia is lathered up in delightful lidocaine* and is ready to get the HALO Laser Treatment started. She’s ready to go with her hair pulled back, because come on – you’ve got to protect the hair!
*Lidocaine is a type of anesthetic that diminishes feeling in the skin and surrounding tissue so that there is minimal pain during a procedure/
treatment.
IMMEDIATE RESULTS POST-TREATMENT: Keshia describes her feelings immediately following the HALO Laser with a sunburn crying emoji , thankful for the Avene water spray, as it helps to relieve the sunburn sensation on her face. This immediate “post-sunburn” feeling is very typical after the HALO Laser Treatment and the most uncomfortable part of this procedure. Anywhere from 45 minutes to three hours afterward (it varies person to person), you will experience a hot sunburn sensation that suddenly and almost randomly dissipates. We include the Avène water spray in your post-care kit to help keep you comfortable during this transitional period.

Keshia also shares that, in her opinion, the HALO Laser wasn’t bad, and that the anticipation of the laser was worse than the HALO Laser itself.
2 HOURS POST-HALO LASER: Just a couple of hours post-HALO Laser Treatment, the heat and redness Keshia was feeling immediately afterward has dialed way down, and she’s feeling comfortable.
7 HOURS POST-HALO LASER: Her skin feels tight and a tad swollen (which is to be expected), but it’s no longer bright red or on fire, although the Avene water spray is still in her grasp.

24 HOURS POST-HALO LASER: Keshia wakes up to MENDS, which stands for Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris – basically just a fancy way of saying microscopic wounds that occur after the HALO Laser Treatment. They contain melanin, which is a pigment that darkens the skin. (This is why they appear like black dots – it almost looks as if you have coffee grounds on your face. But be sure not to scrape these off! They will fall off all on their own and reveal fresh skin.)
She also notices very subtle swelling under her eyes, which is another common side effect of HALO Laser Treatment. Within 48 hours, the swelling around her eyes has gone down.
DAYS 3-6 POST-HALO LASER: The MENDS begin flaking off, and she wears Tizo-tinted sunscreen. She could have put on makeup, but she didn’t feel the need to.
DAY 8-9 POST-HALO LASER TREATMENT: Healing is complete, and Keshia doesn’t even recognize her skin, because it feels new and full of luminous glow. She puts on makeup for the first time and describes her skin as feeling “so smooth and pristine. I don’t think my skin has ever looked this good.”

HALO Laser Treatment for the Win!
After just one treatment of the HALO Laser, Keshia now has the rejuvenated skin she’s been waiting for. She stated at the end of her HALO Laser journey that she would love to make it a semiannual or annual treatment, which we recommend to all clients to maintain optimal results.
In conclusion, it’s easy to be afraid of something you’ve never done before, but as Keshia said, the anticipation of the HALO Laser was worse than the actual treatment or recovery itself. She had built it up in her head as this big, scary thing, but it turned out to be anything but – and she was annoyed with herself for not having done it sooner!
Keshia explained that the first hour or two following the HALO Laser Treatment is no walk in the park, but it’s only temporary and very manageable.
