Fun Fact

Blake loves to learn and seemingly has a never-ending bucket list. He has ridden horseback in rodeos, worked in two separate jobs as a rock-wall instructor, was trained as a sommelier and a barista, speaks French, has a craft room full of machines, and has many aquariums at home! He loves to learn and will always have something new to share.

About

Blake graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS in 2012 with a degree in corporate communication and cultural leadership, where he worked in the advertising industry. He switched to nursing in 2015 and received his BSN from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2017. He worked in the ICU and in outpatient dermatology for 6 years. His passion for the skin has lead him to become involved with the National Dermatology Nurses Association (DNA) where he was awarded the Dermatology Nurses Certification (DNC) which is convened after a rigorous national examination. Blake’s love of teaching has allowed him to teach clinicals and serve as a graduate teaching assistant for the University of Kansas Medical Center. He graduated with his Doctorate from the University of Kansas Medical Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Passions/Hobbies/Life

Blake is passionate about education and the empowerment from learning. He loves to explore and learn with his husband and their two stepchildren. Trips to the lake house or to go skiing always are full of tons of jokes and nerdy chats. He also loves all things Mexican food including the drinks!
