I hope you’re hanging in there.  It’s been a rough few months for, well, basically everyone. And while no one has been untouched by the coronavirus pandemic, I’ve been holding a special place in my heart for the 2020 brides. I’ve been feeling first-hand the waves of emotions; uncertainty in rescheduling cancelled events, ensuring comfortability for guests and vendors alike and probably the biggest — experiencing new guilt and selfishness in my own sadness.

I’ve had to remind myself that no one knows how to navigate through this and that – and as long as the end goal of marrying my best friend happens, well then, it’ll all work out just right! I hope anyone else reading this review has been able to find the silver lining through it all as well. Amidst the shakeups, my bridal treatment plan at AesthetiCare KC has definitely shifted, but I’m back and ready to make the most of it!

This moment felt like perfect pre-summer timing to address my laser hair removal goals.

First of all, what I love about getting laser hair removal at AesthetiCare is that they offer so many other treatments, too. They’re basically my one-stop shop for all my bridal beauty needs. So rather than driving all over Kansas City, Leawood, and Overland Park for different treatments, procedures, and products, I’ve got them all in one place. And more importantly, the staff knows me and my goals and can make sure that my bridal beauty plan is all integrated and working cohesively to help me look my best—that’s a LOT of work that I don’t have to think about!

Since having my miraDry treatment at AesthetiCare, the majority of my underarm hair has ceased to even grow back, and I definitely do not miss the sweat! AesthetiCare already owns multiple lasers for hair removal, allowing them to treat all skin colors and just about anywhere on the body.  Being as though they like to stay at the forefront of the latest technology, they recently purchased a new laser allowing for even faster treatment times and less uncomfortability. And did I mention, it can be used on tanned skin?!

I was able to have my first laser hair removal treatment done on my legs and let me tell you, it was a breeze.  I wouldn’t say it was painless (that whole ‘pain is beauty’ saying really holds some truth) however I would compare the sensation of the new laser hair removal machine to a BBL treatment. Some spicy areas like a rubber band snap.

The hand piece includes ‘Crystal Freeze’ (a high skin protection regardless of the room temperature, the treatment speed and the fluence that is used.) This allows comfort and safety of the client, which I think everyone can appreciate. The most amazing part of it all was the speed. This baby moved fast!!!

After my treatment was done, I experienced some minor redness on my legs, but even that went away very quickly. My laser technician reviewed the treatment area, and then reviewed my beauty plan to make sure I knew when to come in again.

For my next round of laser hair removal, my next appointment will be in line with the growth cycle of my hair (I learned these treatments will work best next time with hair follicles in the new-growth stage.) On average, they will tell you for maximum hair reduction you’ll need anywhere from 4 to 8 treatments depending on the area of the body and the color of the hair.

Considering I have darker hair on my lower legs, I will be back for my next treatment in 8 weeks to tackle the next session, as the hair on your legs grow slower than an area like your upper lip. While absolute “permanent” laser hair removal is a bit of a misnomer, maintenance treatments can be scheduled usually around 1 to 2 a year to maintain maximum reduction with simple touch up sessions. This is going to be waaaaay easier than shaving all the time.
