What Type of Dermal Filler Is Best for You?
When your skin starts to sag or depressed scars suddenly appear, dermal fillers have the power to give you a more youthful appearance.
- Smooth your skin’s appearance
- Restore fullness
- Stimulate collagen
It’s also important to note that the effect of dermal fillers is temporary, as multiple syringes may be necessary to achieve your desired goal and continued visits over the years to maintain. But this is something you will discuss with your AesthetiCare provider at your consultation.
We’re going to get technical here for just a second, but I promise it won’t be too painful. Most dermal fillers are approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and according to the FDA, most dermal fillers are temporary, due to the fact that the body absorbs them over time. These types include:
- Hyaluronic acid, a type of sugar naturally found in the body
- Calcium hydroxylapatite, a type of mineral found in human teeth and bone
- Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a man-made polymer that’s of biodegradable and absorbable material widely used in stitches and bone screws
Juvéderm and Restylane are dermal filler injections that penetrate deep into the layers of your facial tissue to smooth out wrinkles and provide fullness to the areas injected. Both filler brands rank high among consumers because of their propensity to replicate the body’s natural HA production. Results last 6-12 months. If you are interested in injectables, Juvéderm and Restylane are great options to consider.
What Are the Benefits of Dermal Fillers?
It doesn’t matter what age we are – we never stop striving to look our best.
It’s a bummer that by age 50 our collagen levels may be reduced by 50% , but thank goodness for cosmetic procedures! When you experience depleted volume loss, leading to concerns like hollow cheeks and thin lips, it’s dermal fillers to the rescue. ♂️ One of the benefits of dermal fillers is their ability to improve skin elasticity.
Reclaim the youth so cruelly robbed from you by kickstarting the natural HA and collagen production in your skin with dermal filler, a naturally occurring substance. Take that, aging!
- Contour & lift
- Replenish lost volume
- Customize your results
Why Inject Your Skin With Restylane®, Radiesse®, Juvéderm®, Sculptra® or RHA®?
Whether it’s a co-worker ranting and raving about a recent filler they received or a friend eagerly displaying their perfectly pouting wedding photo, aesthetic treatments are fairly common, and odds are, you’ve heard the phrase tossed around a time or two. But why are they popular?
Dermal fillers treat a variety of skin concerns, like worry lines, forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s-feet, but they are also ideal for restoring va-va-va-volume to any depleted facial features – for example, nasolabial folds.
Want that upper lip to appear up front and center in photos? Filler.
️ Want eyes that pop but have hollow tear troughs? Filler.
Is smiling your favorite, but the formation of fine lines is making you frown? Filler.
Does dermal filler pair well with neurotoxins, such as Botox, Dysport or Daxxify?
To Pair or Not To Pair…
Botox or dermal filler … Botox or dermal filler … ♀️ How about both?
A lot of clients choose to get both neurotoxins and dermal fillers in the same appointment for full correction. Additionally, a touch-up treatment can be done to maintain the results of the filler and Botox/Dysport injections. It is important to note that these treatments are typically performed with the use of a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
Dermal fillers and Botox complement each other quite nicely for those whose facial expressions like to linger, leading to the formation of dynamic fine lines on areas of the forehead, mouth and crow’s-feet. Injectable treatments can help to smooth out these lines and wrinkles, giving you a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
How to Choose the Right Treatment for Your Wrinkles
This is where it boils down to trust: Trust in your provider. Trust in their products. And more than anything, trust in their quality.
AesthetiCare employs a highly trained staff with over 250 combined years’ experience in the industry. In fact, many members of AesthetiCare’s staff are trainers at our Nationwide Training Center, MINT Aesthetics.
The consultation is when you’ll meet to discuss your filler treatment in detail, such as your goals, the risks involved and any downtime that may be necessary. During your consult, be transparent with your goals, and trust in the plan your provider has created, because in addition to the many different filler brands, different categories exist as well.
We entrust our providers to make the best recommendations as far as what types of dermal fillers to use on what area, as fillers range in thickness, viscosity and elasticity. For example, Radiesse is a great filler for lifting, and it has a longer lasting effect versus Juvéderm, which is a softer, more malleable filler best suited for soft areas like the lips.

How Long Do Aesthetic Fillers Last?
Most AesthetiCare clients who receive dermal fillers see a visible reduction in wrinkles for as little as 6 months to as long as 5 years following their first treatment. This range varies mainly on the type of filler used in what area, and the client’s age can affect the timeline as well.
