The Best Pre-Wedding Aesthetic Treatments

On your wedding day, all eyes (and cameras) are on you. This is not the time to feel an ounce of insecurity!

No matter if you want to treat sun damage, tighten skin on your face and body, eliminate stubborn fat, or fight lines & wrinkles, AesthetiCare Medspa is the place to go to look and feel your best on your wedding day.

At AesthetiCare Medspa, we’re experts at making you look your best—from every angle. Here’s a little more about the top 9 treatments we most frequently recommend to those on their way down the aisle.

Our top 9 pre-wedding  aesthetic treatments

Body Contouring with EMSCULPT® & EMSCULPT Neo

On arguably the most photographed day of your life, you shouldn’t need to worry about “sucking it in” or small lumps and bumps in your dress (boo, bra fat 👎). We’re sure you’ve been hitting the gym leading up to the big day, but if you could give your results a little boost, wouldn’t you?

Allow us to introduce you to EMSCULPT! This completely non-invasive body sculpting treatment works to tighten and tone muscles (and Neo burns fat!) on your abdomen and booty in just a few 30-minute treatment sessions. On the abdomen, we can target the destruction of fat, all while adding muscle volume and strength. In the buttocks region, our primary target is to build muscle, resulting in a lift.

When to schedule:
For best results, we suggest our brides-to-be schedule a series of EMSCULPT or EMSCULPT Neo treatments 4 or 5 months from the wedding. Since results improve over several months after your last treatment, your abs and booty will be in tip-top shape for your wedding.

We can discuss the need for maintenance EMSCULPT or EMSCULPT Neo treatments around 3 months post-treatment for extra tightening or lifting results.

Cosmetic Injectables

Botox®, Dysport®, fillers, Kybella®, and Medi Threads fall under the cosmetic injectables category at AesthetiCare. Let’s break these down for you:

Botox & Dysport: With Botox (or Dysport) injections, we can temporarily relax the facial muscles that contract when you make expressions like frowning, laughing, squinting, etc., to hide, prevent, and reduce the severity of the dynamic wrinkles that appear with these everyday facial expressions.

Getting Botox or Dysport as part of your pre-wedding beauty plan ensures you have smooth, wrinkle-free skin, despite all the smiling and other emotions you wear on your face on your big day!

Pssst…if you experience excessive sweating on your underarms or hands, we can also address this with Botox injections! Be sure to mention it in your one-on-one bridal beauty consultation.

Fillers: Dermal fillers are gel-like substances, usually made of hyaluronic acid (HA), that we inject below the surface of the skin to provide volume and support, smooth skin, plump fine lines, and wrinkles that aren’t affected by Botox, and enhance the face’s natural contours.

Whether you want to plump your pout, highlight your cheekbones, define your jawline, fill in scars, or just get an overall more youthful look, our expert injectors take time to understand your concerns. We tailor each filler injection appointment precisely to what you need to look and feel your best.

Kybella: Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment that uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid (a substance found in your digestive system) to kill fat cells in the submental area and help our clients reduce or eliminate a double chin in a series of 3 to 6 treatments.

If you have extra fat under your chin that makes you feel self-conscious, stop considering how to put a turtleneck on your wedding dress and come for Kybella! You’ll need to come in as soon as possible to ensure you display your full results come the wedding bells.

The best news? When we eliminate your fat cells with Kybella, they will not return! However, the remaining fat cells can still expand with weight gain, so it is important to keep up a healthy diet and exercise routine following Kybella injections.

Medi Threads: Also called PDO threads, these hair-like threads are made of a bioabsorbable synthetic material. PDO threads have been in use for decades as surgical sutures, but their amazing aesthetic benefits have only recently gained popularity.

At AesthetiCare, we use Medi Threads to give loose tissue a lift. When fillers just aren’t enough to give you the cheekbone definition you desire, or if you have crepey skin you’d like to address, we can help with a thread lift procedure!

When scheduling Medi Threads leading up to your wedding, we recommend coming for treatment 6 to 10 weeks before the big day to ensure all swelling and bruising resolves and your optimal results shine through.

BBL Treatments

Maybe you’ve noticed that years of sun damage have caught up with you, and you have some brown patches, freckles, or redness on your face and chest you’d like to tackle before saying, “I do.”

Broadband light (BBL) is an advanced light therapy treatment by Sciton that uses broadband light to reverse sun damage, uneven skin tone, and other signs of aging. One reason we rave so much about Forever Young BBL treatments is because it can treat a wide variety of conditions that can contribute to an overall dull complexion.

It addresses slow collagen production and cell turnover. It can even alter your skin cells’ genetic expression—meaning that at a DNA level, your skin can actually age in reverse—with regular treatments.

To get clear, glowing skin in time for your wedding, we suggest scheduling a series of one to four BBL treatments 4 to 6 months before your wedding, depending on how many treatments you require.

Lasers like Halo™ or MOXI™

Suppose you feel bothered by dark pigmentation, uneven skin tone or texture, enlarged pores, or acne scars tarnishing your complexion. In that case, you’re likely an excellent candidate for Halo or Moxi laser treatments at our Leawood or Liberty locations!

The Halo Laser is the world’s first hybrid-fractional laser. It combines two types of wavelengths to allow us to tailor the treatment to your unique needs. Halo can target and break up the excess melanin causing even your most bothersome skin discoloration. With a customized treatment plan plus effective skincare products and sun protection, we can greatly improve the appearance of, or eliminate melasma or sun damage-related skin discoloration!

Moxi is the latest way to comfortably revitalize and refresh your skin’s appearance. This incredibly gentle laser treatment is perfect for our younger brides who want a healthier, glowing complexion for their wedding events. It’s an excellent preventative treatment, addressing issues in the skin before they become a larger problem for you.

We recommend scheduling your Halo or Moxi consultation at least 8 to 10 months out from your wedding day. This way, your laser specialist can evaluate your concerns and plan the exact number of treatments that will get you the best results in time to walk down the aisle 💒

Laser hair removal

It’s your wedding day, and if you want to wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care (and not worry about hair or razor bumps), you should!

In a nutshell, laser hair removal targets hair pigment (melanin) in the bulb of the hair follicle. When your hair follicles absorb the light, the energy converts to heat, destroying the growth centers inside. Laser hair removal at AesthetiCare is a safe, effective process of permanently reducing or eliminating unwanted hair on almost any part of the body (except near the eyes).

During your bridal beauty consultation, we can evaluate the hair you’d like to eliminate and make a recommendation for a series of treatments with one of our 4 state-of-the-art laser hair removal systems.

HydraFacial™ MD

If you’re seeking the best pre-wedding facial, look no further than the HydraFacial! There is no skin type or tone that doesn’t benefit from HydraFacial MD treatments. It is one of the most universally skin-friendly treatments that exists.

This relaxing 45-minute facial includes a 3-step process:

  1. Cleanse & Peel – We perform hydradermabrasion (physical exfoliation) followed by a light chemical peel (chemical exfoliation) to clear away dead skin, oil, and other debris clogging your skin.
  2. Extract & Hydrate – Next, your provider will use the gentle HydraFacial suction tip to remove any debris and congestants stuck in the pores. Then we use the Vortex-Fusion tip to deliver intense hydrating skin products.
  3. Infuse & Protect – Finally, we deliver additional antioxidants and peptides to promote skin health and extra glow.

Immediately following a HydraFacial, brides experience brighter, softer, and healthier-looking skin.

No matter how far out your wedding date, it’s smart to schedule a HydraFacial every 6 weeks, including a few days before the big day (come by before your spray tan!).

Microblading

Permanent makeup is rapidly becoming one of our most popular services at AesthetiCare Medspa. You probably know someone by now who’s had microblading done to perfect their eyebrows. It’s an amazing solution for sparse or light brows or brows that could use a little shape.

We always start with a consultation with our talented permanent makeup artist. This allows us to understand your goals, your desired look, and your natural brow shape.

During the actual treatment, we’ll use a detailed mapping process to create the perfect eyebrow shape for you. Keyword: you. This customized map considers your natural bone structure and arch, so your brows are uniquely your own.

Microblading takes about 5 to 10 days to heal. Right after your treatment, your eyebrows may appear darker and bolder at first because the ink has only penetrated the top of the skin (which is absolutely normal). Once you heal, the color softens and becomes more matte, leaving you with natural-looking brows.

You will need a touch-up session about 6 weeks after your initial microblading treatment. Be sure to keep this in mind when determining the best time to schedule this amazing pre-wedding aesthetic treatment! Other permanent makeup services that can help keep your makeup looking perfect all day include permanent lip color (lip blushing) and permanent eyeliner.

Dermaplaning Add-On

While many brides-to-be want to eliminate ALL their unwanted hair (especially “peach fuzz” on the face), unfortunately, laser hair removal is ineffective on unpigmented hair. Enter: dermaplaning!

Dermaplaning involves the careful use of a sharp surgical blade (scalpel) to remove skin congesting peach fuzz and dead skin, allowing your newest, healthiest skin cells to shine! Removing this hair also allows makeup to go on ultra-smooth, with no settling between the brows or over the lip. It also lets topical ingredients (like brightening serums or moisturizers) penetrate the skin deeper and more easily, maximizing effectiveness.

Dermaplaning is a treatment that pairs excellently with any facial treatment on this list. In fact, it can make the results of your HydraFacials even more amazing! Be sure to talk to your skin specialist at AesthetiCare about adding dermaplaning to your pre-wedding aesthetic treatments.

Medical-grade skincare products

You are what you eat 🥦 And similarly, your skin is only as good as what you put on (or don’t put on) day-to-day. You can come to us for all the pre-wedding aesthetic treatments under the sun, but if you neglect your at-home skincare routine and use ineffective or incorrect products, you’ll never get truly *ahh-mazing* results!

Our first pre-wedding skincare recommendation applies to your groom, bridal party, your future mother-in-law, and everyone else you know: SPF = BFF!

It’s 2021, and you know enough about the dangers of tanning beds to not even consider it as an option (we hope!). There’s also no excuse for not wearing a minimum of SPF 30 daily on your face, neck, decolletage, and any other areas regularly exposed to the sun. Don’t be afraid to layer SPF products either! We like to use the Colorescience tinted moisturizer or powder on top of an EltaMD daily sunscreen.

As far as which other products you should use daily, our AesthetiCare specialists are here to put you on the right track! During your bridal beauty consultation, we can use our VISIA® skin evaluation findings to advise you on which products and active ingredients we recommend you incorporate into your wedding skincare routine.

We sell products in our Leawood and Liberty offices, and they can be purchased online for easy refills when you need.
