RF Microneedling for Stretch Marks: Revamp Your Skin with INTRAcel
Stretch marks are a natural skin condition that can stem from skin stretching without enough elasticity to accommodate for it without leaving a mark. It’s safe to say stretch marks are incredibly common, but that doesn’t mean they’re welcomed with open arms Stretch marks are one of the most frequent skin concerns our clients at AesthetiCare look to treat.
Great news! AesthetiCare offers a stretch mark treatment that uses the power of microneedling to rejuvenate areas with stretch marks: INTRAcel. You might have heard of microneedling before, or even at-home microneedling through dermarolling. While these treatments can help, INTRAcel is a much more significant procedure for treating skin concerns like stretch marks at the source. We’ll tell you why below!
AesthetiCare is a leader in aesthetics, serving clients Kansas City, Liberty, and North KC areas. Since starting in 2001, we’ve grown and now thrive with a team of highly trained staff and premier customer service.

What is INTRAcel? | RF Microneedling Treatment
INTRAcel is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment that uses “micro” needles to penetrate the skin and release RF energy at a specified depth. The combination of microneedles and radiofrequency energy tells the skin to produce more collagen and elastin. These proteins are responsible for the structure and “bounce” of your skin. With more of these protein fibers, your skin will be renewed on the surface and also appear tighter.
Along with microneedling for stretch marks, INTRAcel also works to target:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Skin laxity (sagging skin)
How an INTRAcel Procedure Differs from Traditional Microneedling
Traditional microneedling only treats the outermost layers of the skin that the microneedles can access. INTRAcel’s RF microneedling harnesses the power of radiofrequency to go deeper into the skin. By working in the deeper dermis layers, the energy triggers collagen and elastin fibers to produce, rejuvenating the skin from within!
Because it works deeper within the skin, INTRAcel can target deeper lines, wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks more aggressively than traditional microneedling.
Stretch Marks 101
So you can fully see how to treat stretch marks, it’s important to know what causes stretch marks in the first place.
Our tiger stripe friends form by two things happening: skin stretching (duh) and an increase of the hormone cortisone in your system. Having an extra amount of this hormone can affect your skin elasticity (its ability to stretch), which can lead to stretch mark formation. Skin may need to stretch for lots of reasons, including weight loss or gain, muscle gain, growth during puberty, and pregnancy. Because these bodily experiences are so common, so are stretchmarks!
The best way to combat them once they’ve already formed is to rejuvenate the skin from within with microneedling for stretch marks. Since the marks result from skin damage, you can reduce the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen and elastin tissue production. This is exactly what radiofrequency microneedling does!

RF Microneedling Benefits
Besides the significant results in improving many skin concerns, there are plenty of other benefits for INTRAcel microneedling treatment.
Customizable
With any skin treatment, it’s a huge benefit if it’s customizable. Everyone’s skin is unique and has different needs. Whether you’re microneedling stretch marks, scars, enlarged pores, or fine lines and wrinkles, INTRAcel is not a cookie-cutter solution. This treatment can be tailored to suit your specific skin concerns to provide the most optimal results!
Minor Discomfort
Though the treatment packs a punch, it doesn’t actually feel like one There is minor discomfort to be expected, but your provider will apply a topical anesthetic cream 45 minutes prior to treatment. This will make the procedure much more comfortable for you.
Minimal Downtime
You can expect slight redness and swelling after INTRAcel, but only for 12 to 24 hours after treatment. There is no extensive microneedling recovery time, so you’re free to get back to your routine quickly!
If you purchase INTRAcel Full Face, we will also recommend a Boost Bundle! This 3 in 1 aftercare system will ensure a speedy recovery and minimize any irritation, getting you to your results even quicker.
Safe on all skin tones and complexions
This treatment is safe on all skin tones and complexions. During your INTRAcel procedure consultation, we will examine and evaluate your skin and discuss your medical history. This will help us make sure that RF microneedling is right for your skin to help you achieve your desired results.
INTRAcel Treatment Process
AesthetiCare’s treatment process is a streamlined three-step system designed to maximize your time with us while producing the best results for your skin. Below is a general overview of how your INTRAcel treatment at AesthetiCare will work.
Prepare the Skin Before Treatment
Before your INTRAcel procedure, your provider applies a topical numbing cream. This takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to take full effect. Once you’re numbed, we remove the topical cream and cleanse your skin thoroughly to prep it for the INTRAcel procedure.
During the INTRAcel Treatment
Your AesthetiCare provider will determine the treatment settings based on factors such as age and skin condition. They will make multiple passes over the treatment area(s) with the INTRAcel handpiece to provide optimal results. The amount of passes will depend on your skin condition and desired results. On average, the process takes 1 hour total.
Post-Treatment / Microneedling Recovery Time
Pinpoint bleeding may occur during treatment, and it usually resolves itself in 5 to 10 minutes. After the treatment is complete, we apply a light moisturizer or serum and an SPF to protect your skin, which may be more sensitive than usual. You may have redness and swelling after your treatment for 12 to 24 hours. After that, you will see continued improvement in your skin in its tone, texture, and tightness!
Enhance your RF Microneedling Results with Paired Treatments!
Our patients can often achieve better, faster results from combining multiple types of treatments. Conclusion | Microneedling for Stretch marks and Other Skin Concerns
Overall, INTRAcel is one of our most effective treatments to improve stretch marks and other skin issues. It targets the issue deeply within the skin tissue to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Collagen and elastin are protein fibers responsible for the foundation and “bounce” in your skin. With increased collagen and elastin production, this rejuvenates the skin below and on the outer epidermis layer, making your skin smoother and brighter!
