Before laser hair removal, it is important to:

Do not wax, tweeze, bleach, or use hair removal creams or electrolysis on the treatment area for at least 4 weeks.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks.
Do not use a tanning bed or self-tanning cream or spray for at least 2 weeks.
Do not shave the treatment area within 24 hours of your appointment.
Arrive at our Leawood office with a bare treatment area, free of lotions, deodorant, and makeup.
Wear loose-fitting clothing that will leave the treatment area exposed and comfortable.

Following laser hair removal, we recommend:

Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners until your treatments are completed.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, swimming, and strenuous activity for 2 to 3 days after your treatment or until any redness has resolved.
Do not wax, tweeze, bleach, or use hair removal creams or electrolysis on the treatment area until all treatments are completed.
Do not shave the treatment area for at least 3 days.
Religiously apply SPF 30+ sunscreen when going outside.
Apply ice packs or aloe vera as needed to soothe redness or swelling.
